Jenna Blum

I don’t have a favorite place I love to write, since it changes for each book. My first novel, THOSE WHO SAVE US, I wrote at a marble-topped table in my living / dining/ TV room/ kitchen in a postage-stamp-sized apartment on Beacon Hill. My second novel, THE STORMCHASERS, I wrote in an AmericInn motel in the small rural MN town in which my mom and grandmother were born. I hope to write my third novel at the home I now own in that same farm town. The commonality in all locations? No matter where I am, I put up my “Book On A Wall”: the handwritten outline of the novel, so I have a map of where I’m going. The photo is of THE STORMCHASERS book on a wall at the AmericInn. You’d also be likely to find black canvas-covered notebooks from Borders containing my notes, several Sharpie Ultra-Fine pens, books for research, and Post-Its covered with ingredients for the novel that would make sense to nobody but me.

Jenna Blum is the New York Times and international bestselling author of Those Who Save Us and The Stormchasers, now available in paperback.
